Celebration of 35 years honors leadership in affordable housing and supports resident services across California.
More than 400 civic leaders, housing partners, and philanthropists gathered on October 18 at AV Irvine to celebrate Jamboree Housing Corporation’s 35th Anniversary Gala, marking three and a half decades of transforming lives through quality affordable housing and life-changing resident services.
The black-tie celebration, themed “Kaleidoscope,” reflected the dynamic partnerships, people, and impact that have shaped Jamboree’s evolution since its founding in 1990. The event raised over $700,000 in support of Jamboree’s Community Impact programs, which provide workforce development, after-school education, health and wellness services, and other resources to more than 24,000 residents across California. As a nonprofit housing developer with a substantial statewide development footprint, Jamboree relies on charitable donations to enhance these programs and resident services.
“Thirty-five years ago, Jamboree started with a simple vision that every person deserves a safe, affordable place to call home,” said Laura Archuleta, President and CEO of Jamboree. “Tonight was a celebration of the people and partnerships that have turned that vision into a statewide movement. Our work has always been about connection, turning developments into communities and housing into opportunity.”
During her remarks, Archuleta reflected on Jamboree’s growth and impact since the organization’s last anniversary in 2020, including 25 new communities, 2,110 homes, $1.3 billion in leveraged local investment, and more than 71,000 hours of resident services delivered in 2025 alone. The evening also highlighted Jamboree’s growing focus on health and housing partnerships through programs like CalAIM, which link housing stability to improved health outcomes.
The program featured remarks from Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley, Lucy Dunn, Barry Ross, and Claremont Councilmember Jed Leano, each underscoring Jamboree’s role as an innovator and trusted partner in addressing California’s housing and homelessness challenges.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of Jamboree’s inaugural Legacy Award to Irvine Mayor Larry Agran, honoring his decades of leadership in expanding housing access and shaping inclusive communities. Under his guidance, the City of Irvine has become a national model for equitable, mixed-income development with more than 5,000 affordable homes and a bold initiative to double that number in the next five years.
“Mayor Agran’s legacy is woven into the very fabric of our mission,” said Archuleta. “His leadership and conviction have helped make Orange County a place where everyone has the opportunity to belong.”
The gala’s paddle raise, matched by the OneRoot Foundation, helped Jamboree exceed its fundraising goal. Music, dining, and a lively after-party rounded out the evening, with attendees celebrating a shared commitment to building stronger, healthier, and more equitable communities for generations to come.
